Chonnam National University Hospital implements building platform for fostering AI Health Care start-up

Chonnam National University Hospital (General Director Lee, Sam-Yong)  is implementing 'Project for building platform for fostering AI Health Care start-up' together with Gwangju Metropolitan City's Dong-gu District (District Mayor Lim, Taek) and Medical Microrobot Center (Director Park, Jong-O). 
The 'Project for building platform for fostering AI Health Care start-up', as part of the initiative to create a complex for fostering bio-health start-ups through collaboration with hospitals and companies, aims not only to diagnose and treat diseases but also to develop preventable and predictive medical technologies based on big data and AI. 
Chonnam National University Hospital plans to construct a 234㎡ Health Care Big Data Center on the 3rd floor of Chonnam National University College of Medicine Hall 3 as an infrastructure for creating AI-based start-up ecology which is the first step of this project. 
Health Care Big Data Center would be equipped with a joint research space together with big data server and data analysis equipment and the medical center that would be created here is expected to play the role of priming water for high-tech business to be associated with the future 'Project for creating Gwangju-type of AI-centric industrial convergence complex'. 
Moreover, a next-generation integrated hospital information system is currently being set up for systematic collection of medical big data in the future and Chonnam National University Hwasun Hospital has set up a Cancer Big Data Center as an effort to secure cancer big data in association with the National Cancer Center. 
Based on such infrastructure, it is also participating in smart software development project for medical data analysis and is striving to develop AI-based treatment and diagnosis technology by planning collaborative research tasis with GIST.
